Hiro has really been busy shedding. In fact, on his tummy and most of his back, he has no guard hairs. He is covered by his fine undercoat, which just feels like baby fluff. It's soooo soft. Have any of yours done this? Will he get his guardhairs back, or do you think he'll be a fluffy baby all summer? It's really cute-I'll try and take a picture. He's roaned out to greyish/white on his back/belly almost.

Murtagh took a really really long time when he shed to grow into his beautiful winter coat, but I believe his was also due to a recent neuter. But he looked exactly like your description - a baby coat, he'd lost all of his black roan guard hairs on his stomach and back-end of his back But... they grew back and look even better than before (IMO)

My one girl is doing that now. This is the second time I've seen her shed and she looks like someone clipped her hair really short. Then all of a sudden you look at her and she has a long coat again.

I've got a couple who do that every spring. They almost look like they've got an otter's coat til the long guard hairs grow in
