Does anyone else have a problem where their ferret will eat great for a few days in a row all by them selves, and then will not eat for a few days? Flower does this and it is very frustrating because I do not have the money to be throwing away all the food that she is not eating. I also don't always have the time to sit there for a half an hour to stick her face back in her food after every bite is there anything I can do to help encourage her to eat better? It can't be good for her to just eat a bite or two a day for a couple days straight...

Mine will go for a day where they eat a minimal amount, but not a few days in a row. Is it possible you are feeding too much? One little female, once she's used to eating raw will frequently only put back 1-3 oz a day on average.

It's like he has a "fasting" day about once a week. But I know he's okay. Lord knows he's got enough fat on him....

2 days in a row I would think something is up though.

I have only been giving her a spoonful twice a day since she's not been eating much and she seriously eats like 3 bites... I don't know how to measure the food in ounces. She has been on raw for about a month now, could it be that she is just slowing down? Before I would give her 2 good spoonfuls twice a day, and she would usually eat 1/2 right away, and snack on the rest during the day/night. And I can tell that she is not really eating because when she is eating good she doesn't drink water but on days she doesn't really eat the water level in her bottle goes down.

I just went through the last couple pages of your switching thread. You said her weight is up, so that means she's getting enough for her meals. It is a bit of an adjustment period before you really know what and how much to feed. And if she's filling up on the carnivore crunch she's not going to want to eat her food. I'd really be cutting back on that. Was just reading the ingredients- only the beef one is balanced enough to be a meal. It really just needs to be fed as a treat for the most part, or you are going to wind up with some dietary deficiencies.

Mine (all three) do this based on what's on their plate. They are stubborn creatures

I have not been feeding her the carnivore crunch the past few days, do you think she is holding out for that? I mean, she is out playing right now and is definetaly not lacking energy...
