@ Jacksmomma: I love this at the bottom of your sign: "Animals are such agreeable friends - they ask no questions; they pass no criticisms ~ George Eliot"
but, I think my ferret DOES pass criticism! sometimes he looks at us like we burned down his village! he has this judgmental look on his face sometimes! like he disapproves of us!

I read several reveiws online people had the same problem with Tracy. I like freeze dried better than frozen with mine since shipping is cheaper. Stella and Chewys and Vital Essentials is what mine like. For frozen they like Primal, Bravo and NV.

@weloveourweasels, how did you get them to eat freeze dried? I bought a bag of s&c duck, duck goose and the only one who touched it was my stray/ feral cat Charlie. I love the idea of keeping freeedried in their cge, maybe they would then be less likely to make their own jerky :/

I just kept offering it to them everyday multiple times. When they wouldn't take it I would crumble some in/next to their food dish. Some would stash instead of eat it but if they put it in their mouth they eventually eat it. Mine don't like it rehydrated unless its really watery.

Is there any good places to buy frozen premade online? Nobody sells that stuff around here, or is there a frozen kind with rabbit? I won't be able to order from rodent pro anymore, too expensive to buy smaller prey for just two ferrets, to fill a box is like $200 or more so I kind of rely on hare today for rabbit/duck/organs. I've been stocking up on freeze dried to replace the variety in whole prey but I really need another source for rabbit since it's one of the few proteins other than poultry my cat eats. I don't know if she'd eat a frozen brand though, can't get her to touch freeze dried unless there is huge amounts of canned mixed in. My ferrets adore freeze dried, I feed SC rehydrated and VE nibblets dry.

goingpostal, nature's variety has rabbit nuggets and they are one of my ferret's favorites. The rabbit ones are much more expensive than the others - like chicken or beef. I have two holistic pet stores near me that order with primal, NV, and bravo so they do custom orders for me now. If you can find a store that you can arrange that with, that's the best way. You can do online ordering through a middleman, but shipping is crazy

We're going out of town later this month and there's a good pet store that stocks some raw, I know they had NV but couldn't remember what was good and bad in frozen brands last time we were there lol.
