I've been ordering from Haretoday for a year now. The kids have been satisfied with the meat but the transit from PA to FL is too long and frankly Tracy is rude and snippy. My last order was 56 lbs and arrived leaking all over yet the meat was still frozen AND I have opened two bags of ground chicken and have had to toss them because they smell of burnt rubber - I'm sure as h*ll not giving that to my ferrets. I addressed this with Tracy and she jumps right into defensive mode and tells me how expensive her equipment is (ooh ahh) and that no rubber ever comes in contact with the meat. Ok did I say there WAS rubber in it, NO I said it smells like burnt rubber because that is a descriptive phrase that everyone knows. WTF. I'm going to try Primal, NV and Bravo for a few months and if no one seems happy I'll probably just buy my own grinder and by-pass all this BS. When did the customer become the person to poop on?

Did she offer to refund the food you had to throw out? Was the meat leaking? I don't feed anything ground but never had an issue with meat from there.

I never once asked for a refund - but she jumped right into attack mode. I would have been perfectly happy with an apology or an explanation as to why my meat smells so offensive (it's NOT rotten or spoiled smell in any way, shape or form). I just don't get companies anymore. In two seconds I found a replacement to Haretoday. Do they not realize if customers are unhappy they can leave? I guess I just needed a vent
***The order ($250 order) did arrive with blood dripping everywhere but was definitely still frozen.

I'm so sorry! I guess I've been lucky, though, because Tracy's always been kind and super helpful with me. Though if you do have a good selection of foods around you, skipping the middleman sounds like an awesome idea (my one complaint from buying is the price :C )!

I've been using Bravo & its pretty good. I also like Rad Cat and Primal. Rad Cat is prob best frozen raw diet for the ferrets bc has no plant/veg matter at all. primal & bravo have a small % of plant and veg matter. so does natures variety instinct. the dog eats alot of primal & bravo. he loves those.

Thanks Miami, I've used NaturesVariety and Primal but I haven't tried Bravo or Rad Cat. I will definitely include them in the mix (if I can find them locally).

I'd also be writing to the head of the company and telling them why you will no longer be using or recommending their product!

Very timely thread - I've been thinking of no longer ordering from Hare Today as well. I haven't had too much trouble with Tracy but the shipping cost is killing me. I can only store 15 - 20 lbs so the shipping ends up costing as much as the food. And then I have another $5.00 fee for the "convenience" of picking the food up at the UPS store since there was a problem with the UPS driver getting into my condo building (Once but I can't afford to risk the food getting returned or spoiling). Unfortunately, I haven't had much luck finding reliable alternatives in Tampa. I keep hoping I can get my monsters to eat chunks instead of ground so I could just buy at the grocery store but that's not working either

Ugh they are such lazy eaters, eh? I've spoiled them with the ground stuff and now they wont eat a chunk of anything except whole duck hearts. I hear ya about not being able to find a good alternative - someone should open a facility like haretoday in every section of the country, they'd make a killing.
