Ok... I am going to be trying to switch my ferts again. I tried for months with little success. I went back to kibble cause I couldn't take the weight loss of my ferret Huck. He just didn't want to eat the raw period, no matter how I offered it. I tried soups, breading, scruff and stuff. But I was wondering if I coated little pieces of meat with kibble and mixed it with real kibble if that might work? Or is that just going to cause real tummy troubles?

It all depends on the ferret. Some aren't bothered by eating kibble and raw mixed together and some are quite sensitive to it. If you're just coating meat with kibble crumbs, that shouldn't cause any major issue. That being said, you would be better off starting with soup or very very tiny slivers of meat coated with kibble crumbs. As for mixing the raw and whole kibble, you could start by feeding them moistened kibble, slowly add a tiny bit of raw soup and see how their poop looks. Kind of a trial and error thing. Have you ever considered freeze dried? Ive found it to be a helpful stepping stone stage for stubborn kibble ferrets. First you get them to eat it dry as a treat (most love it this way), then convince them its a meal, then slowly moisten it, then slowly sneak raw soup in. There's no chance of tummy upset this way either because it's already raw. Just a suggestion though

I agree wih CarpetSharks. the mix of kibble and raw seems to be fine for some ferrets but not for others. Most of the ferrets i helped switch were fine with a combination - I think most ferrets don' have too much of an issue with it.
Most people switch using a "soup" method But I have found that most of the pickier ferrets switch fastest by mixing some freeze-dried raw in with kibble. Start with a very small amount of freeze-dried raw crumbled into the kibble. Do not try to increase the amount of freeze-dried raw too quickly - let tem get used to it for a couple of days before increasing the amount of freeze-dried raw. After your ferrets are on frezze-dried raw (or mostly freeze-dried raw), you can moisten the freeze-dried raw and start adding fresh raw.

I will try the freeze dried. I have some. I have tried the soupie method for months. I still had to keep spoon feeding most of them. Adding slivers was a pain. They would not eat them. Well only one did. My little Zoey(rip). I did do the mentor thing, but gave up. Huck lost over half a pound. Short of separating him from everyone, which I will not do. I had to put kibbles back in and slowly they lost interest in the raw soupie.
