I know! I miss baby Finn But big boy Finn is cute too And Onyx climbed up your PANTS? How? None of mine have done that yet! It turns out, the wire grid climbing obstacle in my video is actually not hard for Finn at all, he must have just been scared or out of practice or something... I let him try it again today and he went right up! In fact, Fenton climbs up it no problem too! I bet if Fiona would, she could climb it easily. I'm gonna build a climbing obstacle course with the black pipes though

Here's some photos of my guys "room run" This is the entrance to one of the tunnels...they have to do that vertical section to get into the main tube over the cage. This is probably the most difficult part of their run because unlike the other tubes, these are quite slick and it takes a knack to get up. Despite the width of the tube, even my smallest wee sprite can get up here This is another entrance/exit that also requires a bit of work. The clear tube is a pop bottle tube and they can't get up that one...not for the lack of trying though ;D If you look at the sleep box you will see another entrance (dryer vent tubing) that goes from the lower level sleep box to the upper level sleep box, they can then move on to another sleep box across the room using an exiting tube out of back of the sleep box This sleep box can lead out across the top of the cages This tube was originally installed for Napoleon who was afraid to use the stairs, but it has become the down route for most of the ferrets, who will then run up the stairs only to chase their partner back down the tube. The favourite method from the sound is to tuck the legs and just belly flop it down. That's how most of my guys get their indoor exercise You can see Thor's stuffies that he's left on the stairs ciao

Oh my gosh Heather... What a setup! So, I was starting to think I was really into my ferrets and that they pretty much owned the house... Thanks for reminding me that I'm just a beginner at this ferret madness and I have a lot of work to do yet! ;D THAT is what a ferret-owned house looks like! I've seen that stair with a tube setup before, on that ferrets documentary movie! I guess ferrets love sliding down a tube on stairs! I've wanted to set one up like that but I don't have stairs currently. For what it's worth, I'm actually house shopping (currently living in a tiny apartment), and one of the things I'm looking for is a house with 2 stories... Just so my ferrets will have stairs to play on Ridiculous I know...

Wow Heather that is an awesome set up, my boyfriend and I talked about sometime in the distant future about having a ferret room with all kinds of toys and tubes, probably will look similar to that! Awesome stuff I am sure they are very happy

Your guys do an awesome job climbing their exercise cube. They're a real pair of chunky monkeys ;D Finn really has to work to get his bulk up there. He's becoming a beautiful large hob. Fenton's no slouch either ciao

good lord Heather! that's like a jungle gym for ferrets! i just jangle one of those noisy toys on the couch and i make him climb the couch several times. i put him on the floor, jingle toys, he climbs. and then i repeat.

My only complaint with that room is that it's next to my bedroom...Minion and Boris will get playing in there at 4 am (those two have the run of the room from 3 until 10) and the sound of them running up and down the tubes is horrific (there's one section that it bounces off the wall and let's face it those tubes aren't the quietest when you've got a couple of bouncing weasels) That is the part where for some reason they like to play I'm the king of the tube....I think because the looser usually winds up sliding all the way to the bottom and landing butt first in the litter box It wouldn't be so bad if the looser would stay down there, but the game can go on for half an hour or more. ciao

my ferret is 1 year and 4 months. he sleeps in our bedroom and he has full run of the room. no cage. it is very hard to sleep sometimes. WHY do they feel that 4 a.m. is the time to start moving their ferret furniture around? or "hey this is a good time to climb up on the bed and step all over mommy!" he likes to attack my husband at 3 a.m.

At that hour the caged fuzzes don't make a peep (unless Minion finds one of the fuzzes sleeping too close to the cage bars and bashes them...he likes to poke Thor or Odin and make them poof) but anyone who's had full run of the room is up, about and making a h*** of a racket. I've come to the conclusion the only reason why the wee ones sleep at that hour is because they're caged. It's truly their active time if they're out and about. ciao

many times i have gotten up at 4 a.m. to use the bathroom and when i turn the night light on i see this little silouhette in the closet. he stops dead in his tracks and he stays perfectly still. but i see his outline and I know that he is watching me from the closet. ... of course then he tries to attack me in the bathroom,.... such evil.

I am starting to think poofing is a ferret urban legend ;D Finn is 8 months old and I don't think he has poofed yet...

Hey mikey, you should use a dropper bottle for dispensing oil. Allows you to for sure if you want only give them a single drop at a time, which is all they really need.
For noisy ferrets I would recommend an air filter. The hum of mine has allowed me to block out many, many distractions (most of them not ferret related). As an added benefit you also clean the air. Some people I guess have a hard time getting to sleep with a noise like that in the background, but the soothing mechanical hum of rushing air has got to be better than a bunch of ferrets clanking around for hours. A lot of it has to do with the predictability of the constant and even noise coming from the filter, rather than the random rustle of the ferrets at different times and in different tones of loudness.
