Hello everyone, It's been a long time since I was at the old board and my first time at this board. My name is Amy and I have 5 ferrets. Tazzle (rehomed with us at 1 yr old) Bandit (rehomed with us at about 13 weeks or so) Falkor, Fat Panda and Lucy Loo who we bought at Petco because I just couldn't resists! All of them were switched to PMR (Prey Model Raw) through the old board. All of them are still on a raw diet.
I will post some pictures soon!
*ETA* I cannot find my old thread from I switched the crew over to raw, can I get my raw feeder thingy under my name here too?

Actually we have more than 5 furkids. There is the crew and a Shih Tzu/mix named Missy Mae, her littermate Maverick (my cousins furkid but they both live with me), Token a lab/mix who is a little over two, and my 18 yr old daughters cat LB. Then of course there are the 4 bearded dragons and two betta fish. Told ya I had a zoo ;D

Don't let Taz fool ya ... she is the queen b**ch especially when it comes to lamb. No one and I do mean no one stands between her and her lamb, not even Falkor who outweighs her by 2 1/2 lbs lol Even Token who weighs 91 lbs treads very softly around her!

AMY So glad to see you with us! I've wondered how you and your crew were doing I've switched your title to raw feeder, mainly because I can't remember if you fed whole prey or not Regardless, so glad to see you back!

Thanks everyone! Sherry ~ I just raw feed. We tried mice once and the only one who would eat them was Panda and he would only eat the heads! I am glad to be back lol Hard to believe that we first "met" three year ago. I went through some really rough times in my life and without your support I don't know that I would have made it! Figured I should come back and let you share in the pure joy that is my life now! Heather ~ I think you helped me age Bandit and Damien when we first got them. It's been almost three years since then! Unfortunately once these guys are gone we will not be able to get anymore until my youngest leaves the "nest". He developed an allergy about a year ago (breaks out in hives if he touches anything ferret) to them Thankfully it is managable so I don't have to rehome them. I took some pictures last night of Taz with Missy Mae and some of Falkor and Lucy Loo. She is still the same. I remember posting how excited I was that she was finally playing and would snuggle with us ... such a long time ago! Can you believe it, Taz is 4! Falkor is still our big boy at 5 lbs and Lucy Loo is still the littlest one. Missy Mae and Taz Falkor (he is almost completely white now) Lucy Loo has kept her colors

I am so happy things are finally going so well for you such a nice change! Your little ones have grown and changed so much What a shame about your son's allergy! Does Benadryl or anything like that work for him?

I just have him take a cold shower and wash really well if he does touch them, which is often. So far the cold showers work just fine and I'd rather not medicate him if I don't have to. He was diagnosed with autism since I last talked to you, so he doesn't always understand why he cannot touch them and the hives do not deter him at all!

That makes a lot of sense as to why he won't leave them be then ;D And yeah, can understand the not wanting to medicate!

He told me "Mom, I NEED to love them and the hives don't bother me!" I stopped fighting him on it, let him love on them when he wants, and then march him up to the shower right afterwards! When we were still on UT he developed an allergic reaction to the piggy's after we had had them for a year (not sure why it takes a year for him to be allergic to them) and he had a really hard time with not being able to have piggy's again. He refuses to give up "his" ferrets! Crazy kid
