It is odd. I would be tempted to have a redo on the xray If he's healthy and happy I would continue doing whatever you've been doing with the possibility of adding a tsp of pumpkin daily to the mix. This would be to maximize the chance of passing this offending piece, if it does indeed start to move. I don't think I would use the laxative dose, just because I wouldn't want to cause any upset at this point. The problem with floating blockages is that sometimes they move but collect hair and other inedibles eventually creating a larger and more dangerous blockage. By eating a low dose pumpkin you might be able to move those other dangerous materials through his system and possibly the earing too (though if it hasn't moved by this point ). I would try for another xray though...just knowing would ease your mind too ciao

ATM but times are hard in ontario the past few years for everyone. I'll post the x-ray as soon as I can guys Times being tough is something I do understand. The area that I live in here in Ontario was ruled by the automotive industry which all but collapsed. I'm an artist and the first thing people dump when the money gets tight is artwork. ciao

He's swallowed a hoop earing I thought you were talking about a backing (which is the normal earing that is consumed). The only think I can think of is that because that it's a wire and quite large it doesn't fit into the opening and therefore isn't blocking. I would be concerned about a possible perforation though but I would guess if the item is high grade (gold) it won't dissolve or go toxic, though it might eventually wear through the stomach wall or cause an abbrasion or ulcer. I can see where it might not be considered a dire emergency though. He's definitely not going to pass it ciao

He is not the type of ferret to eat random things and chew like my young one does. I don't wear hoop earings either.. I think it came from his previouse owner who was a woman.
