Hey all, my girl flower is doing good eating her soup in increments if I get her started. . How much is a big enough meal that I don't have to give her kibble back during the night?

It really varies according to the ferret. Will she eat I'd you leave food in the cage with her? That's the real determinant. If not, she will still need some access to what she WILL eat on her own.

Ok well sometime in the span of 9-11 (can't remember exactly when I started) she ate 4 tablespoons of soup in 3 sittings. So I put her to bed with no kibble which I didn't like doing but wanted to give it a try, now this morning I put her bowl of soup in her cage and she started eating it on her own! And she ate practically the whole 4 tablespoons! just a litttle is left on the bottom of the bowl, and that's mostly in the corners where its hardest to get it!! So should I be giving her more than 4 tablespoons in one sitting now?? This is soo exciting, this is the first time she started eating by her self!

You do not need to leave any kibble in cage if she is eating on her own like that.

Definitely give her however much she'll eat And I'd start mixing in some meat slivers as well. Personally, I don't like removing the kibble before they are eating small chunks, but it's a personal choice.

I just left mine with a small bowl of soup at night when I took kibbles away. There would hardly be any left in the mornings and I would increase accordingly. Its hard to tell how much to feed at first because their appetite increases.
