(I was going to start this post 5 minutes ago, but had to stop Pixel from licking the bar of soap on the side of the bathtub! I'm pretty sure she licked a bit, but soap never hurt anyone, right?)
So my name is Belinda. I am 22 and me and my husband have a 1 & 1/2 year old ferret that we named Pixel who we had gotten from some dumb lady who bought it for her kid, and then wanted to get rid of it 2 days later when her kid decided that he now wanted a puppy..
Her loss.
So we have had Pixel for about a year now, and she has brought tons of joy to our life! (:
Pixel is one of the happiest, friendliest ferrets I've ever seen! (I can only judge by the ferrets I've seen in pet stores who try to bite when you try and pet them) (ferrets are a VERY rare thing here in Québec!)
Pixel is eating Purina One Smart Blend for Kittens. (The first ingredient is real chicken!). She has food 24/7 in her bowl, but she only eats when she is hungry. (Basically 1 bowl for 2 days).
Pixel lives in her cage when we are not home, or when we are sleeping. She always gets into mischief and is not litter box trained when OUT of the cage (she will go in certain spots on the floor..), but when she's in her cage, she will 100% of the time go in her litter box! (why doesn't she go in the box when out of the cage??)
She passes all of her time stealing my husbands sandals, playing in plastic bags, hiding her toys and other random objects, climbing everything in sight, bouncing down the stairs like a slinky, climbing up my pant legs, attacking our feet when we walk, and running around doing the weasel war dance and dooking CONSTANTLY! (:
We spend 2 hours with her (one in the morning, one at night) playing with her.. where she has both of our FULL attentions! We also spend almost all of our days off playing with her.
She absolutely HATES water. She also hates bathtime, and will try anything to escape..
I bought her a $35 toy (the Marshall octopus toy), that she hates and ognores. She would rather play with plastic bags, shoes, and plastic printer rolls from our cash register at our job (even more fun if there's still paper on it!)
She only knows one word - treats!
She will come running and will wait for her peanut butter treat! Mmm! (:
She has never EVER tried to bite us. She loves giving kisses! (:
She had a collar with a bell on it. I took her out one morning, she played in the shoes in the porch, and came back with no collar. We've looked around the shoes, we never found it. We're positive she hid it!
She NEVER sits still! She is constantly moving, running, and war dancing! (:
When she does get exhausted, she will just fall on the floor wherever she is and sleep (this scared me a few times, because I thought she was dead!) and she will not wake up, even when I carry her back and put her in her hammock.
I will be bringing her for her first vet visit soon (to get her vaccines!)
I am also going to buy her a harness and bring her to play outside soon as well! (:
