'Allo!
My name is Holly, I'm not exactly new but as I wasn't around for long due to personal problems,
I wasn't all that active. Anyhow- I'll begin. C:
I'm currently feeding both my ferrets Loki (Sable) and Ran (Albino) on a raw diet, I'd gotten all the information that I'd needed from the forums, and immediately started to attempt to switch Loki, who is the only ferret I had at the time. The switch was successful despite the months of Loki being stubborn, because really, I was honestly going to poison himwith chicken... Apparently.
I got Ran a few days after Christmas. Ran was already on a raw diet but he was being kept in a house with around.. 50 other ferrets. He was kept in a cramped, dirty cage for six months with three cage mates, unable to move, or play. Being unable to move caused him to not be able to walk properly when I'd gotten him home but that seems to have sort itself out now. Every so often, he'll slide along the floor on his stomach though.. He began playing for the first time last week also!
He could only eat. This caused him to end up somewhat obese.
Currently he's losing weight though and seems much happier. He's also gained a personality of his own finally after a few months. (Despite him now misbehaving and causing as much mischief as Loki)
I'm hoping to get more involved in the community here. (I especially enjoy staring at everyones pictures of their fuzz-butts! )
Anyhow- Meet Loki and Ran!
Loki-
Taken the day before we got DEEP snow.
..My camera seemed to have overly-sharpened this image.
Ran-
This was taken the same day I got Ran.. I forgot to get a box as I'd origionally just gone to look at the ferrets the breeder had.. He kept biting me so I had to scruff him for the majority of the ride home...
