Not doing super hot on the transition so far. After a few days of making progress Loki stamped his feet and said ENUF!
Ok, what he really did was refuse spoon feeding, so I held him and he, very very reluctantly, ate the one spoonful that was offered. He then ran off making hacking noises for 30 minutes or when ever I looked at him for the rest of the day. I wasn't force feeding him and I don't think he could have aspirated any of it so I'm thinking it was all drama for my benefit.
Now, all he will eat is his plain turkey patties.
I tried the "Naughty = Better" approach and let him steal a freeze dried bit out of the bag, which he hid before coming back to steal the bag. He didn't eat it, he stashed it. BUT it was in his mouth so I'm going to mark it in the victory category. His favorite thing is anything crinkly so I think his stashing behavior is related to the noise the bag makes and not to the food.
So, now what should I try? Do I try again with the spoon? I'm sort of lost.

scruff him, put some of the raw mush on your finger and then rub it on his gums and on his mouth so he tastes it. if you put a little on their nose they will lick it off too. be patient and continue to do this. once he realizes you are not trying to kill him he will start licking it off your finger, off of a spoon, etc. baby steps.
