hello! i just started turning my ferrets over to meat and had a few questions about how i make my soupies okay so for my soupies i first pour a little hot water on some kibble and let it soak, then i rip some skin and meat off of a chicken wing and cut it as small as possible, after that i mix in an egg yolk and sprinkle a treat on top (max wont eat any unless i sprinkle some on.) we dont have a blender and i probable wont get one anytime soon unless if you guys think i need it. (my mom doesnt know how to properly use a blender....she tried to mix cake in the thing and it started smoking and such. hehe moms and technology ) so will this be okay for my ferrets? can i also add ferretone and duk soup to the mixture? when should i consider cutting up the chunks a little bigger? should i add anything else to it? Can i also add ground turkey, beef and chicken??? thank you all in advance <3

That sounds okay for a starter soup, however, ferrets should get no more than 1 egg per week each so I wouldn't being adding the egg yolk in. Here's a recipe for a really simple and balanced raw soup: 8oz chicken meat 1-2 chicken hearts 1 liver 1/4 tsp powdered eggshell Enough water, or homemade chicken broth(straight chicken, no spices, veg, etc) to make a soupy texture
Puree all of the above together, freeze in ice cube trays, baggie cubes after frozen. You can use whatever protein source you want, be it chicken, beef or turkey, but I would stick to just the chicken for now, as you don't want to overwhelm your ferrets with more than one protein right now. There's no need to add the Duck soup, and I would save ferretone for nail clipping and training (it has BHT - a cancer causing preservative so shouldnt be given every day). If you want to add an oil you can add some Extra Virgin Olive Oil (about 1/2 tsp for the above recipe) - it's really good for them, and you could add some pumpkin as well (plain canned, not spiced) (1/2 tsp per ferret per day), it helps the food pass through their digestive tract better As for when to make the chunks bigger, that all depends on how your ferrets are liking it. If they are eating it right up with no problem, you can slowly increase the chunk size every 2-3 days, less often if they need coaxing to eat them. I also highly recommend signing up for our mentoring program
