My little furbrats are always trying to give me a heartattack.
Today my boyfriend came home for lunch and while he was eating I got in the shower, so he came into the bathroom a few minutes later in a panic asking if I had left the back door open today. I said no why? he told me Sasha was outside in the pond!!! I asked him if she was okay and he ran out of the room.. I freaked out, jumped out of the shower still covered in soap, grabbed my towel and ran. He was running her under warm water in the sink when I came out and I swear I was almost in tears =/ He told me he thought she was okay and I saw her little head pop out to the side and give me this indignant look like, Why the heck am I getting a bath??
We dried her off really well and after I finished my shower I sat with her in a towel for a while cuddling her. He said her head was dry and she was sitting on a rock along the inside of the pond so we think she slipped down in but didnt go under the water. It's still freezing cold outside so I'm glad he found her when he did. I have NO idea how she escaped, I don't think she was out there long.. but I'm betting somehow she got out the one backdoor that is just a screen door. I'm going to try and go get some of those spring latches that makes the door snap back if it opens =/ This is the second time my ferrets have gotten outside, last time it was through that door.. grrr...
*sigh* thats my scare for the year!

I remembered seeing something in the web site of a friend of mine (thats also not on the surch engines) that may have explained ways she could have got out. From what I remember theirs the Air vents dryer exost thingy heater vent very nervous for some reason, can't think strait. Anyway if a ferret can fit through it and it leads out side the house in any way shap or form, they might, even if its at 90 storys high. Is your house ferret proof? Could be a seemingly harmless window.

I'm pretty sure it had to be the door. I'm glad he came home and went out to smoke. He said our dog rhys was by the pond whining. Rhys got extra treats tonight for saving sasha!!

And even if your house is ferret proof...these critters will find a way out one way or another lol So...we have to ferret proof the ferret proof.

Oh, that was a very narrow escape! Poor baby girl. Yeah, I'd be doing the closing latch pretty quickly. What a good dog Rhys is

What's crazy is Rhys doesnt even like the ferrets! He's scared of them.. poor boy will stand and shake if they are near him, but some how he knew that she was ours and didnt belong out there! She's doing just fine today!
