I REALLY want to try mice and rats with my guys since they loved the whole ground mice I got them (back when I made a big order with hare today). The only local source that I know of is Petco. So, I asked my friend who works there what the brand was for the frozen feeder rats/mice. He said it's called "Former Rat" (made me laugh a little ;D) Has anyone ever fed this frozen prey from Petco before and know anything about this company? I can't seem to find any info online about it I doubt my friend knows anything about it either. I might email Petco and ask them, but I'm probably not going to get the kind of response that I want

I actually didn't know petco carried frozen mice. I'll have to check my local store and see if they have some, too!

Okay...I figured it out ;D The brand is actually "Gourmet Rodents", and I found a website: www.gourmetrodent.com/I was not expecting it to be as good quality as it is I went ahead and picked up a few fuzzy mice (one packet of 3 and a single one for $8 which is kind of expensive ). Petco seems to have jacked up the prices despite the company selling them for much cheaper The ferrets were super excited about the baggies when I let them sniff it. They all came pouring out of the cage ;D So hopefully I have some luck!

Don't feel too bad about the price. If I run out and have to pick some up from Petland, the adult f/t mice run me about $2.50 each.

Pet Co mice are good quality, but they I do not like that you cna't SEE how big they are before you buy. You just have to feel and guess. When you have a snake that needs a particular size of rat, that creates issues. lol They are also much more expensive. I buy from a small local business instead. The woman orders from RodentPro, as well as breeds her own mice, feeder insects, etc. She always gives me good deals, lets me pick out hte ones I want (like she will look for colored ones if Shiiva is in picky mode when she refuses white rats) and size, etc. She is also holding a few live mice pinkies for me. They ahve some cool spots and I want to add them to my breeders!

I noticed that Petsmart and Petco's frozen mice are ridiculous in price...
Check if there are any reptile shows in your area.
I have a reptile expo that comes every two months and I can get 100 frozen adult mice for $65 CAD. So that works out as $0.65 (duh, lol) a mouse.

Yes, the best prices on mice are at reptile expos.

However, if you want to find out how easy your fuzz will take to mice, sometimes the more expensive option(pet store) is the easiest. At least for the first few
