Ok so I have two ferrets eating two ice cubes each, daily (one male and one female). One cube at night, one in the morning. I mix this all together and it lasts about 10 days.
The mix I have them on at the moment is approx
2.464kg Chicken Wings 0.348kg Chicken Hearts/Gizzards
0.330kg Haring-Fish
0.240kg Sardines- Fish with Sunflower Oil
and two full adult mice.
For organ I have 0.112 kg liver beef and 0.112kg kidney beef.
How does this sound? Is sunflower oil harmful? Too much fish? What are the risks associated with fish? I remember reading something about that somewhere..
Thanks

First, I'm lousy at weighing foods now ;D I gather you have them on a home made grind? With all of the above mixed in? Do they finish everything that you give them? Or is anything left over for the next meal?

Yes it is a home made diet. I cut it up with scissors and leave the ends of the bones in the chicken. (I mash up the mid parts and make bone marrow soup). They usually finish everything.

That doesn't seem like a lot of fish. The biggest concern is to give them smaller fresh water fish since they don't have as many toxins as the larger ones(mercury, etc) If they are eating everything, you may want to increase what they are getting. The idea is to have enough to last them until the next meal, with a bit left over that will be removed and new put in. Are you planning on moving them up to whole meats? You've got 4 proteins, so that's a good basis. More is better of course, but it's three minimum.

How much does each cube weigh? I know my iced cube trays are pretty small and each cube is no more then 30 grams (My boy would eat 5 a day at that rate : . If there is any left over I would increase their meals.

I used to feed as much as they could eat but my male got incredibly fat. They both still have quite the bellies so I'm not too concerned. Thank you though. Does anyone know if sunflower oil is harmful?

I don't believe it's harmful, but doesn't do much for them, either. Best way to make sure they are getting enough to eat, but hopefully not overeating is chunks. If they have to chew, it slows them down.
