I will reuse cutting boards that have only had veggies on them. Tonight I was cutting up a chicken for the ferrets and reused a board I'd been cutting veggies on earlier. Great, except those veggies included hot peppers. And I'm transitioning to raw, so the chicken had extensive contact with the cutting board as I cut it into chunks. I'm worried I've ruined an entire chicken. Very annoyed at myself. Also, my hands are burning like mad because I didn't use gloves for the peppers. This will be quite the learning experience. We'll see how the ferrets react.

Just make sure to rinse all the meat off VERY thoroughly! You don't want them getting the hot pepper in their mouths. Run some water in the sink, submerge the meat, and make sure you get it all off.

If you rinse it off, it should be fine. If you don't do it good enough though, then you will be in for it later with all the upset tummies and well.... lets just say the cleanup is not fun and it "smells magically delicious". it should be fine!
