Hello there!
I've been browsing this sit on and off for a while now, and finally went ahead and joined. Now, I don't feed my 2 ferrets a completely raw diet, but I'm joining so that I could maybe ask some questions down the road.
My two are currently on a VERY high quality kibble (wysong ferret epigen 90) and they get soupies 2-3 times a day consisting of raw chicken and pheasant. For treats, I feed them Wysong daily dreams treats (freezedried raw meat treats) and the occasional N-bone.
So despite the fact that they are on kibble, I do include high amounts of raw in their diet. I'd like to start adding raw chicken legs with the bones to their diet as well.
But anyway, I hope to learn a lot here. I'm not looking to go 100% raw yet, but I am looking to add a little more raw to their diet and learn what's safe and what isn't, and what raw foods are better for them than others.

Welcome! That is a good kibble I would try wings first - the bones are more fragile and easy to chew. It would probably be cheaper to feed raw too, if money is an object. Also, check out freeze dried options (Stella and chewys) - benefits of both raw and convenience of kibble

Thank you! Hm, didn't think about the wings! My reasons for not going 100% raw is a lack of freezer space, and I don't trust myself to be able to do the correct percentages (I'm godly horrible at math). Otherwise I'd be all over it I will definitely check out the stella and chewys.

When you are ready, you can apply for a mentor they'll help you balance it. Personally, I don't bother with percentages. X number of meals heavy bone in, X number muscle, a couple heart meals, and an organ one. It really is so easy! But yeah, freezer space can really make a difference in the cost factor!
