Hi everyone! I'm in a bit of a pickle. Im having a hard time finding a supplier for hearts. In the past I used hare today, but i cant justify buying 10lbs of meat every time I run out of heart, especially since I only have one ferret and one freezer ;D Beef heart is readily available at the store, but my little guy has a bad reaction to beef (explosive runny, icky, poops) so i'm avoiding it. When I ordered from hare today I got duck heart to add variety, and that went over very well. I would prefer to get something other than chicken (he eats chicken, CGH, lamb, rabbit organs, turkey and pork at the moment), but if that's all i can find thats okay too. I have been out of hearts for a little over a week, but in the interim i've been feeding a taurine supplement mixed into his squash every day along with a chunk of veal brain (goes over VERY well) 3x a week with his bone in meals . I'm hoping the two will help to compensate for the lack of hearts at the moment. if anyone knows of a raw supplier that doesn't have a minimum order size it would be a tremendous help. Thanks Cydney

Have you checked for local raw feeding pet stores anywhere in your area? Butcher's and ethnic markets are good as well.

If you have any Asian markets around they're great for all kinds of different organs/hearts etc. Good Luck

Most Butcher's will carry hearts it's just a matter of asking.

You might want to ask your grocery store if they ever sell turkey giblets or the like, mine usually has fresh ones with hearts, livers, gizzards, etc, not many hearts in the pack because they spread them out but maybe if you asked they could get you some.
