I looked up "GPS ferret locator." It was $100 plus $13 /month service fee (satellite, I guess).
I just ordered the first one, the key locator/eyeglasses set. I will let everyone know how it works once it arrives and I try it out. One day, I WILL OUTSMART that Dutzi!

My ferret finder is... Maddie lol She knows them by name, and can find them by name (with a little help of clicker training) My ex-roommates ferrets, Peyton and Annie, too So when we have play dates that always comes in handy, because I have a hard time keeping track of them when there's four LOL

I wish I could train the cats to find them! My boyfriend had his snake get out once, and his cat found it for him!

I use the Deben MK3 electronic ferret finder for mine when they are working. Very useful bit of gear. The collars do have to be fitted quite snug or they will be removed by the ferret.

I got the devices in the mail, and here is what she looks like with it attached. I just put it on today, but everyone is tired right now from playing all night and no one wants to go exploring. I only put the harness on when she's roaming around, not when they sleep in the cage. She is so cute, I wonder if ferrets get mad when you laugh at them, like cats do?

I don't even have a collar on my ferrets. I WANT to, but my fuzzies know that the release ones will...well, release. They figured out how to get out of every collar I've ever bought >< Too smart dang it!
That looks pretty big on her lol. Guess just wait and see how it works. Let us know.

HA HA HA HA HA It works!!! She jumped over the barrier into the basement when I wasn't looking....I pressed the finder in the living room...nothing; upstairs bedrooms, nothing and nothing; top of the basement stairs....I hear the little chirping...boy did she looked surprised when I made a beeline for behind the dryer and scooped her up!

I would personally be very concerned about that getting caught on something and her getting stuck/trapped/hung... :S

She can always wiggle out of the harness, and in the past I've found harnesses here and there...she has 4, because when they annoy her too much she does that. It often takes me a while to find them. But thanks for being concerned. I'm thinking more like I'll find the harness and the beeping device and the ferret herself will be laughing that she outsmarted ME.
