Has anyone ever had their ferret get almost like a rash from urine on their belly? Meepo is a pretty good sized boy, 3 1/2lbs.. and I noticed last week his belly around his penis was brighter pink than the rest of his skin, looked today and it was flaming red. I washed it off and as soon as the soap hit it the poor boy started squirming like I was pouring acid on him.
The only thing I can figure is after he pees the urine is iritating his belly (we all know how boys end up with pee on themselves). I'm wondering if I can put something on that, it really just looks like dried irritated skin. I'm trying to rinse him off if I noticed he's peed but i'm thinking about looking for some kind of diaper rash cream that could be safe to use.

Maybe some aloe Vera would help? Its very cooling. I would hold him and make sure he doesn't lick it off.

Can you pick up some sudocream? Not sure what the American version is- it's a type of diaper cream. They hate the taste, so they won't lick it, and it will protect his tummy from the urine, as well as helping it to heal up.

I've used it for a couple of my older boys who have a tendency to drag their bellies. It works very well, same as it does for wee skin kids ciao

Desitin (Original) seems to be comparable. That's exactly what I was thinking, although I haven't had need to use it (yet) Silly boys. I'll have to keep this in mind. No rashes on his belly yet, but Ron tends to drag it right in after he's peed too lol
