Awesome thats really good to know! We have a box of Turkey Necks chilling in the freezer at work, so maybe I'll snatch that up And I'll ask my boss to get more of the Mountain Dog cat foods! I know that the corperate versions of my store carry Red dog, so I'll look into that too! Thanks for asking her for me!

So I was kinda curious about Nature's Variety. I know I've heard other ferret owners talk about it. And since we sell it, I thought I'd grab a bag and try it.
So I mushed up a few of the medallions and put in a bit of water and some ferretone and mixed it into a thick paste. And they went for it pretty quick Zoey was a big skeptical, so I smeared some on her face ;D She wasn't impressed, but then she started eating! So I hope that's alright. I think its a good start!

yay! I actually had a previous mentee who used NV - I forget who though. Maybe Carpetsharks.... They are pretty good though. But yay! If they will eat that, try some ground raw and see how they take to that texture.

So far everyone seems to be eating pretty good. I'm actually shocked. Calvin put up such a fuss last time I switched them to raw, but now he's like... om nom nom! He loves it! I'm sure he's eating more than his share of it. Zoey doesn't seem to keen on it. So I'm trying to take it slow with her. She's mostly eating NV all mushed up with a bit of water and ferretone. Calvin and Martin are both cool with eating chicken chunks.

Also, try cutting a small (tiny tiny) sliver of meat and using the scruff and stuff method to get her to taste it. See how she responds and see if you can get her to take tiny chunks from your fingers after tasting it a few times.

Sorry! yeah she's eating chunks good =] I'm gonna get some different commerical raws. Some different proteins. What you think I should do? Anything and everything! haha Chicken turkey pheasant goat lamb duck rabbit quail pork beef bison (buffalo) cornish game hen goose And any parts of these! Gizzards (muscle meat, good for the teeth), hearts (necessary for taurine) liver, kidney, spleen (organs), brain (organs also high in taurine), wings, feet and necks (great bone sources), backs, breasts, chunks, ribs, etc. Commercial ground raw you should check the ingredients if you can. They are not always all-inclusive. Some have bone, some do not. Some have heart, some do not. Some have organs, some do not.

Wooow. Thanks for bringing that to my attention! Luckily I wasn't planning on using NV too much ;D ;D I went to this cute little holistic petfood store near where I live and bought some club canine raw cat food. It looks pretty good! I got... Turkey with bone Chicken with bone Beef with bone dust (?)
The lady that works there told me she can order in rabbit, ostrich, venison, bison and a few others I can`t remember. She says they dont sell a lot of raw cat other than turkey and chicken so she doesnt keep it in, but she will have no problems getting it. I`ve also spoken to my boss, and she said can order me cases of chicken wings, backs, and necks from Mountain Dog - Which works out well for me because I get that at cost. ;D ;D
So yeah!
OH! I also checked out that Red Dog Blue Kat food that Sherry had mentioned? And it looks really awesome. So I am hopefully gonna head out and see what I can find of that too!
