Off topic, but carpet protectors (if the kind I'm thinking of) didn't work too well with my guys back when I used them In our new apartment, I decided to look for a heavy rug or mat (berber carpet is best) to put in front of doors (that's where they like to dig, and of course that's where it's easy to shred and pull up carpet ) I found some at walmart for $8 a piece. I bought the thickest and heaviest ones they had, and it has worked like a charm! They still dig in front of the doors, but I let them since it's on the mat/rug... win-win! ;D I'm making a thread about it since it worked so well

I don't understand, how do you mean they dont work well? Ours aren't to deter digging, they are to catch poop lmao.. when I said Mojito pulls up carpet I mean outside of the ferret room its easy for him to pull up carpet. Strangely enough though the ferret room is the only place with no pulled up carpet type damage. The only reason i mention it is because if he can pull up carpet and rip out inch long industrial staples I dont see how stick on tiles or shelf liners would deter him in the cage. My fiancee went and got the thin roll that you can get at walmart and home depot and he went in the ferret room and stappled them down to the floor (im going to draw a rough mess in MS paint to help explain lol) and about a half inch up on the moulding/wall because sometimes Mojito and Kahlua lift a little too high, lol. He used an industrial stapler and inch long staples, Mojito can and does pull them out on occassion but other than that we dont have a problem, they've been in there since early feb. They clean up very easily and I personally love them, to me they're the next best thing to having linolium or wood floor in there. My rough MS paint version of my ferret room floor set up (I have real pics I am going to have to post at some point lol) The strip of navy blue is just to show where the carpet protector is curved up to cover a bit of the wall, that and the pink = carpet protector. The spaces where there isnt dark blue = entrance door and closet door) The bright green is carpet because although we wish we could, we cant pull up the carpet and put linolium or wood flooring lol

lol no, Kahlua wont let me have litter (she attempts to bury litter, usually after its been used, in the carpet ) so we just put down the capet protectors along the wall and dont worry about it anymore haha. She and Mojito go in the bottom of their cage normally, SoCo goes on the plastic and Morgan.. well, he was aloud to go anywhere on the carpet in his old house so he was going on the carpet right INFRONT of the carpet protectors but hes learning quickly, we got him 8/2 and hes already up to about a 80% hit rate

Just want to bump, hope thats okay. I don't remember if updating a post puts it in the 'new topics' and I just want to make sure it gets seen, I just emailed the first person i could find selling and FN on CL and they're selling it for 50.. its the only one available that doesn't come with ferrets BUT its the 141.... I'm not sure if it'll be okay to put Mojito and Kahlua in a one level-ish cage since ive always had them in a 3 level cage. If this person responds then I would definately update the 141 with the 143 (or would it be another 141??) asap but that may not be till XMAS...
