Totally agree on that one....also when you're buying be very careful as some places inject their chicken with salt water (to make them look plumper) this isn't good for them either. ciao

Yep. I had it cooked up before we got the fuzz balls. But just getting 1 cornish hen shouldn't be more then a few dollars and if they take to it I'm hoping it will be a meal or two for them.
I'm hoping the bones will help with their gnawing. Draco keeps wanting to bit on the door stop. It's hard plastic and we stop him each time but he seems to really want to chew.
Oh can they have a little piece of bacon? I have some in the freezer that I'll be using in the next day or two.

Ok thanks. That's good to know. Is it the salt in it or the smoking process? *just curious*

That's a very good point. I'm not a huge bacon fan but I will admit I love it in a macaroni and cheese casserole.
I'm just happy my husband is on board with feeding raw. Though he did ask if ferrets would eat crickets.

I've had a couple of fuzzes who would chase and then eat them....Porthos loved them..but he'd just eat all the legs off them and then later puke them all up I didn't find them worth the time or the smell (they smell worse than the mice)...you can feed mice, rats and rabbits...if you're on board for that. It does take a bit of getting around on though ciao

Yes, they can! Mine love to catch bugs if they get the chance. I've even got one will suck up earthworms like spaghetti if she's outside and finds them ;D Just don't make insects more than once a week for their diet Actually, you can chill the crickets to make them a bit sluggish(but still hopping around), plop a few in the tub along with the ferrets

Ugh forum crashed after I had a nice long post typed out. Typical.
My hubby is way more interested in feeding live prey (and bugs) then I am. Makes me a bit squeamish. But he thought the idea was cool. So we might be looking into that as something on occasion.
I'm hoping my father in law will be able to get us a deer this year ^.^ and not just cause I enjoy deer.
