Hello, I'm Corri. My husband and I just got two ferrets this weekend. A pair of boys around 4 months old. So far they are adorable and mostly well behaved. A bit of nipping when they get over excited but we are working on fixing that.
I'm looking forward to chatting with everyone about fuzzies and the fun of raising them.

Hi and welcome on board Please feel free to prowl around check our the various sections, read through the various threads, ask questions, get involved (it's a great way to learn ) Everyone's friendly and more than willing to offer suggestions and hints..... just be prepared to be bombarded with picture requests....it seems to be a high demand thing here it seems to be the only thing that really gets a rise out of them and a few pictures later they seem to have quieted down Most of all have fun...I hope to see more of you around ciao

Aww arent they adorable!! Loove there names too! Question, whats the brand/color of the room with the dig box? I love that color! They look like trouble though, must say And to post pictures: when ur in photo bucket, you know the lines of code below the picture when you move your mouse over it? Go to the bottom line that says IMG and the line starts with bracket IMG back slash bracket, click it and it'll say copied, paste it in the text box here and the pic will show up

The brand is Behr Premium Plus deep base, according to the can, and the color is gingery. I really like it too. I'll have to open the blinds in the front room and get a shot of it in the light for you. (I have it for the living room, the hall and the spare room (ok now it's the ferret room)
And thanks for the info on how to put up pictures! We're planning on trimming their nails tonight so maybe we can snap a few more then.

Hi, and welcome Please, feel free to browse, post, ask questions, etc! Hopefully you won't have too long a wait for a mentor If you like, you can start your own thread to get ideas in the "newbie" section of diet. Make sure to read through some of the switching threads(can't post to these, but tons of good info), as well as the archives. They'll give you a place to start at least

I'm getting my husband to pick up some cornish hens tonight on his way home. Right now the pair of them seem to be willing to eat anything so I'm going to try and take advantage of that. I'm hoping he can grab one with the innards bagged inside too.
Right now we're waiting on getting a full sized fridge (have a mini fridge at the moment it works but doesn't hold much or have much of a freezer) but I really don't want to put the switch off for another week. I need to go grocery shopping on friday or sat so I'm hoping to have a shopping list by then.

Offer them whatever meats you're having, at this age they will eat anything...(they're just little furry tummies with teeth ) If you're having steak, cut off a bit and let them have it. Little bit of hamburg, chicken...give them the wing tips off your whole chicken. Gives them something to sink their wee teeth into. Your mentor will give you the low down on how much and calcium needs and such when I get you set up. ciao

We're trying to use up leftovers at the moment. So already cooked chicken tonight and I don't feel comfortable feeding them that (it's also been breaded and spiced). I'll be thawing some ground beef tomorrow for spaghetti though. So I'll set aside some of that for them.
We should be getting a full sized fridge by the weekend and then I'll be able to store a lot more.
I'm looking forward to having a mentor. I think I have a good grasp on the broad idea, it's just the details that I get a little fuzzy on.

No, I'd not be comfortable with giving them the chicken either. Not even so much because it's cooked, it's been spiced already, which goes right through the meat.
