1. Where did you first learn about natural diets for ferrets?
I was thinking about switching my dogs and Saunga wasn't looking as good as he used to, so I googled it and it brought me here
2. Please describe the type of diet you would like assistance in switching your ferret(s) to.
This is where I'm not entirely sure. Because I can be out of town a fair bit what I will most likely be able to do is a mixture of pre-packaged raw, ie Primal for cats or Wysong or something like that, and actual meat.
3. Why are you interested in switching your ferrets to a natural diet?
Saunga was looking a little worse for wear, and I am hoping this will help with that.
4. Do you understand that switching your ferret to a natural diet can be a lengthy, arduous process? Its not an overnight switch. It can be a commitment of several weeks or even months. Your HF Mentor will be more then happy to assist you in switchng your ferret(s) to a natural diet, but you need to be equally as commited. If you aren't willing to tough out a potentially lengthy switching process, or if you have major life changes approaching (baby on the way, moving, starting school, getting married/divorced, etc) then it might be a better idea to wait on switching your ferret's diet until you have more time. Are you willing to make the commitment?
Totally and completely
5. How many ferrets do you currently have? What are their names? Ages? Genders? Do they have any health problems? Are they overweight? Underweight?
One currently, Saunga a male who will be 7 in October. He seems generally healthy, although his full brother died of cancer 2 years ago and that is something I keep in mind. He may be a bit underweight and his coat texture is not great.
6. What diet do you currently feed your ferrets? (Please include all treats, supplements, etc)
Zupreem grain free.
7. Have you ever tried to switch your ferrets to a natural diet in the past? If yes, what happened?
Nope, I have offered him little bits of chicken before which he ignored.
8. What additional information about yourself or your ferrets would you like to share?
Saunga is the last remaining of a group of 3. His brother died 2 years ago, and his absolute best friend in the universe died this past April. I think he is a little depressed about being a single ferret, and I have been trying to enrich his life to the best of my ability as it is not a great time to add another ferret to the mix. He has always been the sweetest and biggest snuggle bug ever, when he was younger we would find him curled up in a pile of stuffed animals, and now that I am basically his only companion he is very very attatched. I make one of my cats Roxxy hang out with him as much as she will tolerate him, as I think he needs some other animal interaction and she is pretty sure he is an annoying kitten who won't leave her alone.
9. How often during the week do you have access to a computer?
Generally 5-7 days a week.
10. Please post a picture of each of your ferrets (if possible).
