since i now have a job, i'm totally going to get into whole prey, i'm thinking of ordering from layne labs www.laynelabs.com/ since they have variety that i don't have here. i'm just wondering if i should get them started on mice and rats, before i order from there, with quail, chicks, rabbits and guinea pigs. and also, since they've never had anything with feathers, is it easy to get them to eat that? or do i have to cut it up??

Mine were eating mice only and I ordered rabbits, quail, rats, guinea pigs and chicks and they took to them great, they love quail especially but watch out feathers get everywhere! I didn't have to cut anything up for them, although I do now gut guineas and rabbits or mine will make a mess opening them up and get poop everywhere and then refuse to touch it until I clean it off. So easier to gut before I give them, but I know some ferrets don't have an issue with that and they eat the other stuff whole.

okay. i guess i might just go ahead and order from layne, since it'll be easier to have everything coming from them. i'll have to order the smaller sizes of rabbits and guinea pigs, since i only have two fuzzums.
