I'm getting a freezer!!! My mom's been complaining about how little room we have in our deep freeze because of all the ferret meat so I found this adorable little stand-up mini freezer on Kijiji and I'm going to look at it and hopefully buy it tonight! It has shelves, and a drawer and smaller shelves in the door and it's going to be so organized and pretty and full of ferret food! Wow, I didn't think I'd ever get this excited about an appliance I will set it up tonight with all their meat and post pictures!!!

Ooooh do share the make and model! I've been trying to find a mini-freezer that is just a freezer (no fridge space) and having a H-E-L-L of a time

It's a Danby mini freezer (no fridge), I'll post the model number once I know it Does anyone know if I can plug it into the same plug outlet as my deep freezer? My mom seems to think that it will be too much for one outlet but I'm not sure where else to put it, theres no room in my garage or kitchen for it and freezers shouldn't go on carpet should they?

I think you can. Our fridge is plugged into a normal outlet. And I agree, I would love the know the make/model too! The closest thing I have found is a 5 cubic foot freezer but even that is on the large size. And the freezer in our new place is TINY! I can barely fit a month's worth of food in there. One duck, some rodents, and a few pig organs filled up my side of the freezer entirely. *sigh* I am so jealous! I can't wait for pics of it all filled up and organized!

Do you know what else is plugged in to that particular circuit? You probably don't want more than two large appliances on the same one... and blowing a fuse on a circuit with freezers on it would be the worst! Is a mini freezer just like a mini fridge? I could use one of those too! My parents have an old fridge-sized upright freezer that my mom says we can have, if she gets a chest freezer of her own to replace it... So I've been checking appliance sales for her We already have a chest freezer, but with two ferrets, two cats, two dogs, two snakes and two humans... it's full!

I recently got a larger stand up freezer, I think it's 10 cubic feet, my chest was 7 so it's nice, I can spread stuff out and actually have room for some of my food too! Freezers are exciting!

So it's a Danby upright freezer (DUF419W) will post pics tonight (it was burning hot all night working so hard to cool down so I didnt wanna leave the door open long enough to take pic until it has another day to cool). All the ferret food fits wonderfully though! I've got a muscle meat shelf, a heart shelf, an organ shelf, a bone-in meats drawer and the door of it has the freeze dried and soupies in it I plugged it into my kitchen too so its upstairs

Pictures! The outside The door shelves: Top Shelve - Chicken Necks and Feet (for when their meals need more edible bone) Middle Shelve - Soupie Ice cubes and chicken breast for making more soupies Bottom Shelf - Freeze dried and Bone Meal The Freezer shelves: Top shelf: Bags of Hearts (I have WAY too many hearts) Middle Shelf: Bags of Organs (I also have WAY too many organs) Bottom Shelf: Muscle Meats Bottom Drawer: Bone-In Meats It has a temperature dial and stays pretty cold even on low settings (the food stays nice and frozen). It's a little noisey when the motor's going but this one's 8 years old (got it for $100 of kijiji though so can't complain). Here's a link if people are interested in this freezer: danby.com/product.php?cod_prod=DUF419W&code=2Apparently it's been discontinued (not very energy efficient I think) here's their replacement for it: danby.com/product/DUF408WE/2...but this one costs $350 new in my area yikes! Awesome little mini freezers though!!!
