I had a whole message written out and it just went the way of the wind Anyway, I will try and reiterate. Do you have any RR (rescue remedy)? I think with all the changes that are going on right now they would need some at least in their water. You could also put some in their soupy too. All fuzzes react to changes differently. Some enjoy it, others abhor it. Watch your little boy, Huck, carefully. He's one that doesn't react well to change. He needs the extra assistance to get him through those changes. The addition of a new furbaby and the change in diet has stressed him. He needs some RR. The baby does he have a round, firm belly? or does it appear hollow? Baby fuzzes need full bellies. You're doing very well by your guys....really... Maybe a glass of water with some RR for furmoms too ciao

I will try and get some RR. I seen some in a town an hour away. Maybe there will be some here somewhere. What should I get? There were a few differnet kinds if I recall. Fog ate well this morning. He always feels like he has a full belly. He ate 1 1/2 cubes of raw this morning. Then when I put them to bed, he ate some kibbles. EVO and GO. I am going to try and bread some small pieces of chicken this afternoon when I pick up some more chicken that isn't frozen solid. It's like I can't keep him full. He ate a whole bowl of kibble last night even though it wasn't marshalls. I haven't had to fill kibble bowls since I started the switch. I usually just dump and put new in. Although I admit to try and keep Huck happy he gets a marshalls chicken bandit once or twice a day, or a tiny piece of milkbone. To keep Lily happy, I give her a piece of orijen dog food. I did put a little marshalls in the cage last night, but I caught Lily eating it, so took it out. Took so long to get them off that crap, don't want them eating that. I always seem to pick the picky fuzzies. Everyone always says oh ferrets love this and this. Ha, they have never met Huck or Lily. Then Fog, he should be easy being only 16 weeks, haha, not. With the RR, how much do you use?

OK, I got some RR. But how much do I use. All I could find was the spray or the gum. So I got the spray. Like I would get the gum for the ferrets. haha

I've never used or seen the spray before. What are the directions. Fog is so hungry all the time that once he realizes that the raw is food he will eat it don't worry. He's not likely going to be a hard case to switch. Try to give him as little kibble as the others allow. If he's the age that they say he is he shouldn't give you much grief he's going to be constantly hungry and probably eat 2 and 3x what the others will. You've just got to make sure that he has access to the right stuff ciao

It says to spray 2 sprays on the tongue. I am at my wits end with Huck. I feel like I am going to cry. I wish they understood what is best for them. Everything is the same, except it is a little more chunky. Even Sid is giving my a hard time. Ahh!! I know it is worth it, but this is soooo stressful. I don't see how this is going to work. Huck is miserable, Lily is miserable. Maybe they aren't hungry. I don't know. They have their own room right now. All they have access to is the raw soupie. Maybe I should try skinless chicken thighs? Anyway I put 3 sprays on their food and mixed it all in. i hope it is not too much.

I don't think 3 sprays will be too much. You can't overdo Bach remedies only waste them Hang in there. It's never easy and I've often wondered why I have to make my poor little ones miserable just to make them better. They can make you feel so guilty. Keep telling yourself it's for their own good. How big are the pieces that you've added. Maybe, you should add fewer pieces or add more liquid and leave the pieces the same size. This would allow Huck and Lily to have the texture that they like and still allow them to have a chance at chunky foods. Remember there is no timeline, only getting the job done ciao

Yeah.... took a break.... took some time to think. Then I went to walmart and got a small blender. So I can make the mixture more smooth for them. What I do know they like. When I blend the backs with all the fat and add one cube to the smooth mixture. Even with the little bone chunks, atleast Huck will eat that. So I will make the mixture thinner and no chunks. No chunks until everyone is eating very happily. If that takes a month, it takes a month. I will just make sure I brush everyones teeth a couple time a week. I already brush Zoeys teeth every other day. Trying to get them back to what they should look like. Once everyone is eating happily I will start adding little slivers to their soupie. If I have to supplement some cooked dook soup for Huck just to please him, I think I will. I am going to add the rescue remedy to their water, just a little so they don't smell it. I can smell it in their soupie, probably why everyone gave me a hard time.

One thing I forgot to ask. Does RR make them sleepy? Everyone is passed out, even Fog. Well Fog ran around for half an hour, ate some more soupie(no RR) and then passed out too.

A very good move. I agree entirely. The one problem with switching is the stress we put ourselves through. The more stressed we are, the harder it is for our little ones to relax and accept what is new. Your RR, has alcohol in it? Many do, it's a preservative. Use one spray in their water and watch them closely, to make sure that they don't stop drinking the water. The other option is to take the spray and spray some on your fingers and then rub their ears with it, the RR can be absorbed that way too. ciao

Wow.... what a stressful weekend. Everyone ate this morning though. Thanks goodness. I gave Lily 2 pieces of orijen. Then she ate alot of soupie. Huck ate on his own too. Not alot, but he did eat. I took the kibble out of the cage. when Fog went to find th kibble all that was there was soupie. So he ate some. We'll see how they do at lunch. I think I watered it down too much though. Sid didn't seem too interested. So I won't water it down quite as much. Just trying to please everyone is difficult. There is still soupie in their cage so everyone has something available if hungry. I'm just happy Lily ate. When she vomited I started thinking bloackage. But she is not a chewer, never has been. And she was pooping. But she must have went poop like 4 times in less than an hour yesterday. I think she ate too much ferretone. I always put some on the edge of the plate to entice Huck into eating.

So I am guessing that they do eat less when they are on the raw. Cause there are no fillers in the food, just protein. I am making sure Fog has a full belly as he is still growing. I've noticed that their output is alot less too. When Fog was eating his kibbles he was pooping like 10 times a day. Now he is pooping like 3-4 times a day. As the others 2-3 times a day. I am guessing this is normal? I think I finally found a texture that they all don't mind. I just make it like I usually do in the big blender, so all the organs and heart gets blender well together. Then when it is time to feed them I use the little blender and make it like a smoothie. The little one works great for that as it is a smaller cup and not as much is being blended. I'm just going to keep it consistant. Every 8 oz, I use one liver, 2 hearts, and eggshell powder. Then I also add a cube of chicken backs which is all blended up. I hope that is good enough for now. Lotsa calcium for Fog. I want him big and strong. He is gonna be a big fert I think. 4 months and he is already the same size as Huck. I do have his papers, so he is 4 months. Plus I remember him at the pet store back at Christmas time. I was going to buy him then, but I got Indy instead from another pet store. I wish pet stores weren't allowed to sell ferrets sometimes. They just don't care about the animals, just the profit. And I can't rescue them all LOL. I was also wondering if when they start to eat more raw. In Huck for instance, my little carb addict. Do they have less energy. He is a lazy bum lately. I know when I quit smoking, I had less energy at first.

OMG.... you don't even know how happy I am. I don't want to jinx it. But Huck is eating his soupie like a pro now. Atleast the last 5 times he has eaten. He ate a little at breakfast on his own, I didn't push it cause he may have eaten kibble at night. Then I remove all kibble int he morning. At lunch he gobbles it up. He had a little when I got off work. And just now, ate it all. All on his own, no spoon, no fingers. He licks it all up and goes on to the other plate. I usually have 2 down, 3 per plate. The only one still a little reluctant now is Fog, but even he is getting better.

Awesome. That is so fantastic. I told you they'd get it, it's just a matter of when. One of the most difficult things is trying to find the right trigger for a ferret. When you're doing multiple ferret switches that's even harder because they never seem to all hit at the same place at the same time. How's your little one? She still doing ok? Good you're already starting to see the effects of a raw diet. Substantially less poops is indeed part of the whole parcel Awesome isn't it Once they get more stabalized on raw, you're going to see a surge in their appetites and their energy. Right now, your little carb addicts are probably feeling the crash. Poor wee beggars....they should feel better soon. Keep an eye on them though. If you think Huck's sleeping too much, get him checked out. Fog won't or shouldn't allow himself to get hungry. Most baby fuzzes are just tummys with teeth, once they get a taste of real food and how good their little bodies feel when they eat it (and it's all about that) they eat ..... and eat .....and eat . You guys are doing great. Keep me posted ciao

I might have spoke too soon about Huck. I'll see in an hour. I may have just not watered down his soup enough for him. Lily is doing great after her vomitting episode. She is run ning around and paying like normal. I think I just worry too much about Huck. He is just one of those ferrets that if you do not entertain him 100% of the time, he gets bored and goes to bed. He had his blood sugar checked and it was all good. He got out of his cage last night. Bad mommy, forgot to close the bottom door on the FN. Luckily I put a gate up to the room where there cage is. Or he might have gotten outside when the dogs got kicked out at 1am to pee. As I type Huck is terrorizing one of the dogs. Little brat. Fog, he still has to be spoon fed. Don't know why. But he is as big a pain as Huck. But when he is out all he wants to do is play, so it is hard to keep his attention long enough to know he is eating enough. The soupie I leave in the cage is always eaten, so someone is eating it.

yep, I jinxed it. Huck is back to being a PITA. After a whole 24 hours of being a good boy. I never changed anything. I don't know what is up with that ferret. Not that Fog is any better. They are both brats. Huck is too interested in what his whiskers look like too eat. He licks like 5 licks, then cleans his whiskers. Takes another 5 licks, cleans his whiskers. He'll do this for 10 minutes, and won't even make a dent in the food. Then my good little Sid. He ate a whole plate to himself. That is 4 ice cubes, at 1.5oz each. I don't know where he put it. But he ate it. Then you pick him up and he feels heavier. But he is such a maniac, raw is doing wonders for him. Not that he lacked energy before. Now he races around the house. Cheetah ferret.
