Hello everyone!
My name is Cecelia; I am 18 years old and I live in North Carolina. I became interested in a raw diet after my ferrets dwindled down from 3 to 2 to 1 and my remaining singlette, Saunga, has lost some of his old zest for life. His coat is suffering, and he is generally not as active as before, and I believe he has lost some weight. As I am not really sure it is the best time to add another ferret to my household I am hoping switching to a raw diet will improve his lifestyle. He does get to socialize with one of my cats, Roxxy, but she doesn't really like him as much as he likes her. He is currently on kibble and in the past I have offered him raw chicken as a treat, which he turned his nose up at so it may be a rocky transition
I'm in the process of switching my two dogs and three cats to raw, but part of my problem is that I also have 3 horses which I compete pretty heavily and during show season's peak I will often be gone for 3 days at a time and while I can take the dogs with me the cats and Saunga have to be taken care of by someone, usually my mom, and I am not sure how much time she wants to spend preparing food for them. For that reason I am planning on using both "people" meats, and Primal frozen pre-prepared dog/cat foods. Is there something similar for ferrets or can they eat the one for cats? It would not be his only diet, just supplemental for when I am out of town which is typically no more than 3 days at a time.
This is Saunga, not the best picture but he is very interested in the sounds cameras make so it you pull one out even if you have all noise turned off he wants to investigate.
