Hi guys
I used to be on the forum, back when it was at it's old location. I believe my username was Rascal'sMommy, or something like that. I had never switched over to this site, mainly due to life getting getting in the way, silly life ;D
I have three ferrets currently, all are either private rehomes, or come from the local ferret rescue that I am on the board for.
First there is Rascal. He is the ferret that started it all. I got him when he was 2 years old, and he will now be 7 in September. He came to me after my mom and sister's coworker could no longer keep him, as her boyfriend was moving in and needed the room for his pirahna tank. Whatever, ended up being good for me. He is Insulinomic, but it is controlled 100% with diet (grain-free high quality cat kibble).
Then there came Renegade. I got him when he was almost 3 years old, and he is now 4. Renegade is.... the special kid. He came to me when a friend who used to be involved with the rescue realized she was no longer spending as much time with them as she used to, and wanted her two to have a good home. Renegade came with his cagemate, Rogue, who unfortunately had to be euthanized 4 months after I got him. Renegade is (what I think) in the beginning stages of Adrenal, and is currently being treated at home with Melatonin. Renegade has never liked other ferrets in his cage other than my other two, but recently has been aggressive to Rascal, so Rascal is now alone. Renegade is allergic to all (that I have tried) meat. He is the difficult one of the bunch, and definitely a handful, getting into trouble every way he can, but we love the bugger.
And then we have Harley. What to say about her. We got her from the rescue at 2 years old, and she is now 3 1/2. We got her a couple days after having Rogue euthanized, to make sure Renegade had a playmate. She is definitely the baby girl of the group. She is just a sweetheart, and loooooves people. She does therapy visits around town, and is always warming up people's days. She is the only one who readily accepted raw when I tried, but due to her being in the same section of the FN as Renegade, I cannot currently give it (Renegade WOULD eat it and then start puking). She is my go everywhere, do everything ferret, and definitely filled a niche I did not know needed filling. She is a little overweight, just due to getting all the treats from therapy visits and such. She also only has half her tail, as half had to be amputated a few months before she came to live with me.
