I'm so bummed guys! Last night the barn owner called me to tell me they are selling Shadow! Not only that but she is leaving to her new home today and I won't even have a chance to say goodbye. Horses are my childhood dream. When I was a kid there was NOTHING in the World more important to me than horses. I am so grateful that I found the opportunity that I did and had the chance to get back into things. I really learned a lot from Shadow, and I still plan on hanging around the barn, helping with pony rides and such. But I am still so bummed. Now I don't have a horse to ride! We were starting to make really good progress too! For those of you who have not seen her, here she is. Doc's Shadow. She wasn't my heart horse, but she was a special girl and I loved her. Goodbye Shadow! I will miss you and I know you are in a great new home!

Awww I'm so sorry to hear this I know how tough it can be loosing a special horse. I started riding when I was 9 years old and the instructor's daughter had a horse named Taz who she was too big for so the instructor let me ride him all the time. I was the only person who got to ride him and when he needed surgery to remove a chip on his foot, I visited him all the time and then got to ride him on my birthday when he was healed up as a present. He had to be sold too though and I couldn't afford the 6,000 at the time seeing a I was only 12. He was totally my heart horse and I never got over that fully. I rode for quite a few years after that but I don't really ride anymore have never really found another horse quite like him. I'm so sorry for your loss of Shadow, and that you didn't get to say goodbye at least the new home is a good home but I know it only eases the pain a little bit.
