Hey everyone, I just received some of Wolfie's new medication in the mail today but when I looked at the label it seemed to have doubled on Pred. Old dosage: 0.1cc of Pred 6x5mg + 6cc 50% dex New dosage: 0.1cc of Pred 12x5mg + 12cc 50% dex. Does anyone know if this means it is stronger prescription or just more in the bottle? It looks like there is more in the bottle but when they wrote those new numbers it totally threw me off. Maybe I should just call them, the only reason I don't is because they are always busy and I always have to leave a message, I can never get a straight response right away. Anyways, it would be great if anyone had advice on this, if it is stronger I would most likely give him half of it but still three times a day because he doesn't need a stronger dose yet. Also, if the portion is stronger it will throw me off again because the last time we saw the vet he said that Wolfie could actually be taken down to twice a day of the old dosage, so, I am hoping that there is just more in the bottle, but if not I'll have to go and call them This is so frustrating, I can't wait to become a vet and never have to worry about this again!

My interpretation of this is: Old dosage - 6x5mg = 30mg 6cc 50% dex = 3cc water & 3cc dex. 30mg in 3cc water = 10 mg/cc New dosage - 12x5mg = 60mg 12cc 50% dex = 6cc water & 6cc dex 60mg in 6cc water = 10mg/cc So I think it's the same concentration

Phew! Thank you Jackie, this is a wonderful relief. I don't know why they have to make it so confusing!

I would check with your vet just in case, but it seems the same
