Hey guys!
I keep saying for whole prey to offer variety, like 4 proteins, etc. But i cannot find how /often/ rotating.
Like, do I offer 4 different whole prey AT ONCE?
Do I rotate like Prey X on monday, prey Y on tuesday, etc.
Do I rotate like Prey X for a week/month, Prey Y for a week/month.
Etc.
What would the timeframe rotation be? I have access to whole prey rats, whole prey mice, whole prey small cavies. Maybe chicks but need to check.
Ferret is currently on kibble but I definitely want to swap. But yeah, the only detail i cannot find is the schedule of rotation of whole prey species to offer the conplete optimal diet.
By whole prey, I mean ; intact full carcass. Not blended/grinded, not frankenmeat, not soup.
Can I feed only 1 species of whole prey until she understand that its food? If yes, for how long, before adding variety/species rotation?
Thanks!

Per animal. If you’re feeding mice and chicks, for instance, you can give mice in the morning and chicks in the evening, as they’re small enough to be finished each time. A large rat or Guinea pig (cavvy) will possibly take longer than a day to eat, so leave it with the ferret until either it is finished, or it smells bad or gets hard- this will depend on how warm/cool and moist/dry your environment is, but generally a prey item that isn’t finished after 48 hours is garbage.
