Is it safe? I dont wanna shave their whole fur just around their butt. They seem to slide their butts on the towel after using the toilet and alot of the time it gets on their fur around the area and get smeared across other stuff, sometimes dries out and they seem irrated til I wash it off.
I was thinking about shaving them down there to stop it going on their fur but I have no idea how to or what to use are normal clippers ok? Also if its not ok to shave them anyone have any other tips or advice on what I can do to stop the smears of poop on them

It shouldn’t be happening, the poop getting stuck to their fur like that, unless their poop is the wrong texture all the time. What are the stools like and what are you feeding them?
That being said, I don’t see why it would be bad persay to shave a ferret’s butt, just very difficult. You’re gonna need at least two people to do it. I don’t know what clippers to use as I’ve never buzzed an animal at home before, let alone the sensitive areas of one.

They have a raw diet mostly their poop is fine except when they have organs that spreads alot. Also I really have a problem with one of them its part angora and very furry down there she usually smells of a** the others don't and ita usually because she cnt wipe without getting it on her fur. Also I figured I'd need help doing it but I'm worried will it become itchy I mean they and surgery and were shaved and everything was much better then but the fur has grown bk I think it'll be ok I was wanted to be sure. Do u know anything else that I can do? Washing 4 ferret butts every few hrs is exhausting

"Wiping" is normal ferret behavior, both as hygiene and territorial marking. Best option is to provide a soft, washable surface in front of the litter box to help capture the skid marks, or a disposable quilted pad.

I do put a towel down for them to wipe but my angora ferret seems to smear it as she wipes it gets caught in her fur and doesn't come off I see her trying to groom but doesn't get it off usually have to wash her
