Heres the thing.
I found frozen turkey necks at my local butcher for pretty cheap, and was hoping to incorporate them for 3-5 of their bone in meals per week.
I fed them these once before, and noticed they were having a harder time than with other meats. I only fed pieces that had bones the same size or smaller than they're used to. Since theyre fairly new to a raw diet i was carefully supervising. And just assumed that they were figuring out how to eat this new type of meat. It did seem like the bone was rougher than normal, but i figured maybe it was the way i cut it or something.
When i opened up the new package of necks, before i did anything to it, the bone seemed really sharp and just all in all dangerous to feed.
I obviously havent fed this meat. Is this because theyre frozen? Is it freezer burn? Am i mistaking in thinking that turkey necks are safe? How can i tell what bone is safe or dangerous for my ferrets?

Hey desi4572 click Search under the Holistic Ferret Forum title at top of page. when you get to the site, put turkey necks in the area that says---where the thread title contains---
I have used quail as a bone in meal. I also have fed chicken ribs and chicken backs. I used scissors to cut but some people are pretty good with the cleaver. The bone is not thick in these areas of the chicken. The legs are too tough. I would cut some meat off or other parts of the bird and serve with these very boney pieces.
