I’m sure there are so many threads about this but do we think it would be too late to raw feed after having your noodles for 2+ years?? would they take to it eventually? what is the cost comparison between that and kibble??

Any age ferret can be raw fed, it’s just harder to switch them when they’re older. Cost varies per kibble, with the acceptable ones and better ones costing much more- I generally pay about $5-7 a pound for chuck beef, chicken wings, and stew pork (usually butt or shoulder) at the supermarket, $2.50 a pound for chicken hearts, and $1.50 a pound for chicken livers. That’s all you really need to get started the diet with enough variety. You should ideally have another organ, like kidney, spleen, lung, or brain, but that can take a little more searching to find. I’m lucky in that my local grocer also stocks rabbit for $7 a pound. Many ethnic grocers will have quail. Mice are a very good food but unless you’re breeding them yourself they’re running something like $18 a pound in bulk last I checked. I do breed them myself, so my cost is their food which is $2.75 a pound, plus hardwood pellet bedding which I use less than 50 cents of a week, plus fluffy paper bedding on top (I use Boxo Comfort) which I use less than 75 cents of a week.
