Hey all. I've become a ferret mom recently. Adopted a 1y/o crazy lil boy in okay conditions, he's been implanted with Suprelorin implant a month ago, he accepted raw, but still fights with boney meals. Its summer here and it gets to like 38 celsius but hes under AC most of the day and I keep the temp at 25 celsius at most. Lately there's been some weather changes and temperatures fluctuate from 22 to 32. He's been ignoring his food most of the day, then the other day he eats up some, next day he stashes it, third day he eats normal, then all over again. I'm going nuts. Been trying to hand feed him but he takes a bite and runs off to stash it. When he's out he's acting like his normal self, jumping around, discovering, going bonkers, stealing my socks, stashing his toys... My question is, for a summer season (as this is my first summer with him) is this normal? Does weather change affect his eating habits? He's also going through shedding and im brushing him every day, giving him raw egg which he accepts and eats it right away, he hasn't lost more than 50grams which i was told was normal during summer. I don't see any simptoms of blockage etc. I also noticed he doesnt sleep much during the day, but he pulls off an allnight sleep session with a few toilet breaks. Help me not lose my mind 😂

It all sounds good to me, I'm not as knowledgeable as many others here with raw, but I understand they will eat, and stash, and regulate themselves. 50 grams doesn't seem worrisome at all.

he's only a year old and he sounds pretty normal and active. 50g is about 2 ounces, so no worries. What does he weigh? eating habits can vary seasonally. I had a male silver mitt (Real Canadian) who was an absolute kook and despite all the trouble he got into Scamp was my absolute favorite. He rarely slept more than an hour at a time during the day and probably averaged 12 hrs total vs up to 18-20 for most. Welcome to the group. What is your fuzzy's name?

He's 2.663 lbs on my kitchen scale and at vet he weighted 2.863 lbs about month ago. We're going to the vet again tomorrow so I'll ask her to weigh him down again. He's an absolute donkey atm, he didn't want to eat for day and a half until i smashed his food into paste for the am meal and pm meal he ate normal 🤦♂️ There's a huge weather change going on so today he's lazy. His name is Taz, and his personality truly is like Tasmanian Devil but a heckin adorable one Edit: his weight at vet today is 2.430lbs, but my vet who specialises in ferrets said that's normal for summer and recent implant. Seems so low after seeing and hearing about some ferrets 😭
