hello i was on a site that talks about ferrets and found this question which i know of anther case but its a jill being tormented i thought ill repost here in case anyone has any idea on the matter thanks
Adopted a Jill approx 5 years old five months ago. ex hunter and unspayed.
She is with 2 neutered boys and a spayed female. Was not much trouble at first (toilets wherever she wants usually in the middle of the room) she has had one Jill jab to take her out of season (kept outdoors and now living indoors) and I currently not in season.
I plan to have her spayed no matter what but she has developed some problem behaviour recently that may be related to hormonal stage. She has begun to persistently grab the neck of one of the males, causing no injury but makeing him scream, spray and poop everywhere in a panic. She also hassles the other female at night as she is housed with her and the males separate.
I've done timeouts with no effect so far would this be an issue of hormones or something else?

I'd say hormones. If you were in the US I would ask if there were any signs of adrenal disease. Are there? Either way it's likely hormone related. When was her jill jab?

Most likely it would help. However, many times a female is the alpha in a business.

I would think an ex-hunting ferret would be bossy, she has experience making her own decisions. But the spaying should help some with getting along with other ferrets.

thank you all for the help i have told the person having the problem and will se what happens. the other case which i know about is a 2 year old jill thats new to the group and a rescue unknown history . was housed with a spayed 1 year old jill no trouble but sometimes dragging the spayed jill back to nest i told them the jill was in season in the time they looked for a cheaper jill jab the jills vulva whent down and is only a very little bit swallowen. i have no experiance with breeding but i said she mite be pregnant since that point she will get on with the 2 castrated 1 year old hobs but grabs the neck of the jill making her scream poop and run and hide its been 42 days and still acts the same when allowed to mingle also no kits but she put on a bit of weight not much there is hair still covering her nipples and still very energic and vulva little bit swallowen so no clue if its pregnancy or phantom or other. the recuse dont seem aggressive with the spayed jill and no discipline methods work so its confused me apart from hormones and the owner wants her spayed but worried if she will still not get on with the other jill
