Examining the pics further maybe he IS a black hair dilute, I think the darker colours on him are pure browns, right? Maybe he would be classified as a type of chocolate.

I suspect the orange is just from oils in his coat (usually from hormones). They can produce some startling colours. I remember going to adopt a ferret from the NSWFWS and seeing one ferret that was bright yellow, he was an albino and the oils had turned him bright yellow. He was really bright, not at all a colour you think of for fur. He had just been desexed but the hormones were still rampant. Once they settled he became a regular white albino, without even a tinge of yellow or cream in his coat.

He is so cute! It does look like he's pretty oily which is probably why he's orange. It's still awesome though.
