Does anyone have any tips on how to get a ferret to gain weight? I’ve had my girl Ava for 2 years now and while she’s always been a tiny ferret and eats regularly I recently got a big boy and she just looks so skinny next to him. They’re kibble fed, and I have them on NV Instinct Raw Boost and Orijen Original Cat (Cat and Kitten).

Egg yolks and salmon oil are both very fatty and widely loved. Both can cause diarrhea though, so give them when you know the ferret is going to go in the proper place, like before putting them away for the night.

see if you can get them to eat canned salmon cat food even. It's better than just kibble. you can grind some kibble with a coffee grinder and sprinkle it as a topper to get them to eat it. Mind you, I have had several females that were quite healthy but only weighed around 1.5 lb. My current 2 went from poultry grinds to salmon for some reason and they won't go back. Salmon is very good for ferts and peeps
