Hello everyone,
Lola is a very loving ferret. I have only had her two months but she is very sweet. One behaviour I'm trying to work out is this.... When she starts getting sleepy and you can tell she is trying to find somewhere comfortable to rest, she can begin scratching our legs/arms while we are lying down and while doing so she 'hisses', she will sometimes then bite down a little, she is not a biter in general. Is this her being frustrated with us? It's becoming quite frequent. Thank you all.

Seems like she is wanting your attention. Does she have a hammock? My boy alternates from a hammock to a bottom dresser drawer that I have lined with baby blankets. I have also put a bunch of throws in a corner of his room for him too. Once in a while he will sleep in a bag something like this, which is also in his room www.amazon.com/Cave-Sleeping-Self-Warming-Small/dp/B08QVNNV4N/rWhile mine is free roam, at night we close the door to his bedroom or we will hear scratching at our bedroom door at 3:30 in the morning.

Yes she has 2 hammocks in her cage a double and a single but she has never actually slept in them! She has free roam of the house around 7-8 hours of the day and has so many sleep spots, 2 beds with blankets in the Livingroom, blankets on the couch, 2 beds with blankets in her room, and all the beds in her cage, she also really enjoys curling up inside my dressing gown when I'm wearing it. But yes I agree she definitely wants something but I don't get what hmmm

Does she get any kind of treats? Maybe she wants to play. get a kat teaser and see if she likes that. I have 2 dressers where they sleep, either under or inthe bottom drawer. Some would sleep under the couch. I had blankies and t shirts in a few strange places, but they definitely prefer dark.

She might be looking to find a place to curl up so she's scratching your arms/legs to either go into your shirt sleeve or pant legs? Maybe pick her up and she might want some cuddling and maybe might even fall asleep on you. Just a guess. I get a few cuddles that way with my ferret. Unfortunately it doesn't last long. lol
