So both of my ferrets really enjoy the shower. They can access it freely and always have so much fun when I turn it on. I understand you aren’t supposed to shampoo them often. And I’ve only shampooed them once ever. But, is it a problem to let them play in the water too much? I don’t want their skin to get itchy or their fur damaged. But its hard to not turn it on when I get them out because they love it so much. So what I’m asking is , am I allowed to let them play in the shower with it on frequently, or should it just be a special occasion thing?
Thanks as always, your replies are appreciated greatly!

They can get wet, just towel their fur after. If they stay wet often, they can get a fungal infection on the skin. Not a big risk, but it’s there. Their cousin the mink actually swims in creeks and hunts fish and frogs.

Let them play in it! My ferret jumps into the tub all the time but he doesn't get that wet like yours do. Just throw an old towel on the floor so when they come out of the shower they will probably dry themselves off. lol

love water ferts. When I had a walk in shower there were 2 of 9 that would walk on in and play.

I adopted annabelle at one year old. The girl said she loved getting in the shower with her. I did put out little tubs of water for her and occasionally let her in shower. My Didi got so excited from getting in shower she bit me when we came out. That was a big surprise. I guess that is why she bit me---who knows:)

My Bayka she loves water but Misiek he hates it (he's very scared of water). Bayka and Spioh they both loved to play in water on a hot summer day to cool down a little bit.
