So originally my ferrets were on marshalls kibble because thats what they were being fed at the pet store, so I switched them to wysong epigen 90 digestive support and there stomachs never fully agreed with it so then I decided I would just go raw and I bought a variety of grinds with bone meat liver included. They both ate the grinds no problem , there wasn’t a transitioning phase they just have been gobbling it up. Today is day 2 and I was checking out their poop and one of them is having green poops. Should I be worried or is this just their digestive track getting used to the new food?

Any time you have a change of diet, especially a radical one like sudden transition to a completely different diet, you can expect a change in poops. How green is green? And how many times? It may take a few days to adjust. Poops should get darker and firmer. Can you get a pic of the green stuff? You may have to add bone meal to get firmer results

Hey. I emptied their litter baskets out and am going to keep track of to see if they’re getting better like I suspect. I found the poop chart for raw and I think they’re just getting acustomed to the new diet. Also when you guys say you feed bone in, say like a chicken leg do they actually eat the entire bone in the leg?

Yes, they do crunch through and eat the whole bone, but a chicken leg might be too dense for beginning raw eaters. Try wings first, much smaller bone. You can smash up the leg bone in a bag with a hammer first to get them started on bigger bones.

Not too bad, actually. Probably needs to get used to the higher water and fat content in raw. Give some bone or bonemeal to firm things up in the meantime.
