This is our almost 6 week old kit called Pepe And this is Banjo (we think!!.....Banjo has a white patch under his chin, so this may be the wrong photo as they look similar lol) We met them in person for the first time yesterday and they were super cute and friendly. Pepe decided to use my hand as a toilet.....so he has been nicknamed Pepe le Poo

I have cardboard boxes FULL of hammocks, toys, litter trays, tunnels, ping pong balls, food bowls, treats, huge roll of lino.....but no hutch and no ferrets!
The hutch is being delivered on the MORNING of the day we go on holiday, which is a pain but the only delivery day they had. As the hutch is custom-made I have no choice in the matter
So, on the day after we return from holiday, I will be madly cutting lino, hanging hammocks, arranging bedding, defrosting food, setting up food abd water bowls.....and then at 5pm collecting the Furries from the breeder and bringing them home in time for dinner and possibly a quick play
I've taken a few days off work so I can properly observe them and establish a routine, as well as teaching my daughter (and myself) how to hold them
I work from home anyway due to COVID-19, so the days off are more for letting Pepe and Banjo know I'm rather nice and they can trust me

Oh, and we replaced the decking area with one that had less gaps, and filled the sides with smooth heavy rockery stones
We've been around the garden on ferret level blocking off any gaps they could get in trouble....even tiny spaces they probably can't fit into - not taking the risk!
I've attached rat mesh to any gaps in fencing (from the outside of the fence so they can't prize it off)
I bought a playpen (after my dream) for inside the house for occasions when I might not be able to supervise for a few minutes
Inside they will have limited access anyway until I really understand them better. Then I can begin a whole new level of ferret proofing lol
