Hello, I was looking for a natural and safe disinfectant to use on my ferret's cage. I really wanted this to be as safe as possible because they would be getting exposed to it a lot and possibly licking it and getting it into their body from the cage bars. Then I found this product. All it has is salt, water, and electricity to make hypochlorous acid. I researched the substance and it says it's safe to consume and use and that it's found in white blood cells to help fight infection and disease. It kills 99% of bacteria like E. coli and I think this is one of the best safe yet effective options out there and wanted to share it with everyone else =D It's very strong and has no chemicals, it's safe, and gentle. The company is also very transparent and you can find the safety sheet for more info. Here's a link to the website. I hope this helps a lot of people clean-republic.com/collections/cleaning-and-disinfecting-supplies/products/disinfectant-and-sanitizer-500ppm-32-oz-ready-to-use

I use 10% bleach in water, it evaporates into harmless salts.

vinegar and water for me too. I have used it full strength on shelves and do a wipe with water---- or not. No argument, but vinegar is harmless, organic and edible, and it works great on dissolving poop if you let it sit 5 min. Bleach is a great disinfectant, used in hospitals even, I just don't like handling it or the smell. I figger I can spray vinegar anywhere, and I do, including the kitchen and bathrooms. We do use bleach solution for some jobs. Also, you can use vinegar on carpet and fabric. FWIW, bleach is the same chemical as pool chlorine, just different strength. Either solution in the proper strength is ok. I've never seen a residue after wiping the black FN shelf liners using vinegar, but using bleach sometimes left a white film, that was easy to wipe up with water, just an extra step.

I can't stand the smell of vinegar, so this is why I'm using this one instead. It's hard to find non-toxic products. Maybe I can use vinegar though, do you have any tips to make the vinegar smell less? Thanks!
