New ferret tenses it’s bottom legs and crosses it’s legs over really tense when being held does this mean fear ? I have recently adopted 2 ferrets both 1 year old that have rarely been handled and have not been fed or taken care off very well they are serious biters that cause a lot of damage to my hands and arms but I have noticed they tense all of there legs and arms and cross them over when held is this fear or is this just there normal state when being held

no it's not normal for an adapted ferret. It's going to take time, gentle handling and talking to them to get them to calm down. I've never had a vicious biter, but I adopted Rosa from a shelter because she was surrendered for biting. It took a while but we worked it out. Meantime invest in some cowhide work gloves to protect your hands. NOT the blue suede ones but like this. www.lowes.com/pd/Wells-Lamont-Large-Mens-Leather-Multipurpose-Gloves/1000551315

So sorry to hear that, patience my friend. Patience and lots of antibiotic cream. Fight your reaction urges and make sure to never use negative reinforcement.
When you get bit, it's important not to draw away, but to stop wait for them to let go and then move away without saying anything. This will prevent them from learning that they can push you away if they feel frightened and eventually they will be comfortable to your presence. Training to stop fear biting is very different from typical nip training.
