I Just looked at one by Walmart seems to copy the Ferret Nation. I would put piece of painted panelling on the bottom floor or something like hard plastic, so ferrets would not have to walk on the cage wire for certain.
Seems to have pretty good reviews----I did not read any of them though. Another choice too is the single Ferret Nation, which you can put an add-on it later.

the feisty ferret is a good cage but as mentioned you'll want to cover the floors. You can use towels, clothes or preferably something stiffer, because ferret feet are not designed to walk on wire. You can cut out linoleum to fit and it's easy to clean. Another, preferred, option is to put the plastic bottom tray inside the cage and order another, then cut out the ramp hole for the upper level. It doesn't have to be perfect. I have never owned one but from the pics it looks like that would work. Have you tried to find a Critter Nation cage? they are ferret nations with horizontal bars.

I researched cages and found that the Ferret Nation cage was the bast as it is much easier to clean. The feisty ferret cage doesn't open on one side making it harder to clean. I'm not from the US either but am fortunate to live near the border to be able to pick one up a few years ago.

Wow, I've been in this "business? for a while and I never realized the FF only had one side that opened. That would make life more difficult, but it's still better than one of those tall ones with narrow shelves or a short one with no room after you put in a litter box. I've know a few peeps in UK that have had FFs and they were ok with them. They do have a lot of room, and there is not much space between levels. This thing is HORRIBLE www.chewy.com/kaytee-2x2-multi-level-habitat/dp/181376Cheaply built, but expensive, Very difficult to clean, near impossible to hang hammocks, and I have heard of ferrets getting killed falling from the top level. I got one with a couple re-home ferrets and never used it.

^ That's the cage Soapi's owner brought her in. I can verify it's garbage. Just 100 more, and you'd have the best cage on the market, either the Ferret Nation or the horizontal-bar Critter Nation. (I have a CN, it's fantastic. Bonus points if you glue the litterpan down so they can't kick it around!)
As far as the FF cage, I would recommend it secondary. The linoleum floor idea is brilliant, but it's still smaller than an FN or CN cage. But, that also depends on you - do you have a special playroom for them that they won't even be in it long? Floor-covers? FF might work for ya. My girls are usually cooped up while I'm at work, or sleeping, so their CN gives them plenty of room still to play until I wake up. Then it's party time, and the two bottom doors swing wide open so they can come and go at their leisure, and I can clean in 5 minutes. All depends on what fits your lifestyle!

Bonus points if you glue the litterpan down so they can't kick it around!) What litter pan are you referring to? We put bath towels under the floor pans so it's not as noisy when they get a good itch-scratching going. I used spring clamps to attach the litter boxes to the side of the cage when I had ferts tha liked to move it and even dump it, but the two ferrets I have now don't poop behind the boxes if they get moved. And I guess since you can't open both sides of the FF cage, you wouldn't be able to put the pan inside...

Sorry I hate the quote system here and can't get it to work properly lol. But I got basic cat litterpans at walmart and cut the one to make a shallow corner that ramps up to the back like a corner-potty, but way bigger. I glued it to the bottom of the floor tray in my Critter Nation. No clamps stop them - they lay beside it and kick the h*ll out of it. I got tired of the mess lol.

I got tired of the high poops and got dishpans and cut down one side. I have to be able to take them out because they need to be washed occasionally. Right now I have 2 (final) ferrets and a dozen litter boxes. None of my ferrets cared for the triangular corner boxes.

Yeah, the FF cage only opens on 1 side and you can only put the shelves on the one side too plus it doesn't have anything to cover the wire floors. You have to get something to cover the floors. Yeah, the picture is deceiving because you would think both doors open but it doesn't! For my litter pans, I used a strap to hold the pans in place and it's tucked under the lip of the pan. My ferret can't get behind them to slide it out and poop behind it. It also worked on my sister's ferret when she stayed with me for a couple months. She was even worse then my ferret in making a big mess in her cage. My ferret doesn't make a mess in his cage any longer though. He's a good boy. I also like the FN cage because I made it into 2 cages when my sister's ferret stayed with me by locking the ladder in the up position between the bottom and the top cage. I have a double FN cage for Charlie. Yes, he is spoiled!

Oh I clean mine, I just take my plastic baggies, clear what's in there out, and then clean it with soap and water. Oatie comes up and kisses my arms while I'm cleaning it, lol I think she knows what I'm doing. It's cute. I'm lucky with that, though, because I have 4 other litterpans through my apartment, and she never uses them. She only ever goes back into her cage and uses the stuck one. But I've heard horror stories of ferret-poop-guns that go anywhere they please, and need boxes in every corner. I'm just lucky, ha.

^^^ As you can see, the hitting enter doesn't work for me... it reads it like it's all one quote. :\
