My girl (Oatmeal) has a problem now that she's getting bigger, and that's that she needs more space. She's outgrowing her corner potty, and I'm going to get her a double critter nation so I can cover half the entire bottom floor in a nice fat litter tray for her.
However, as it stands, she tends to go in a certain other corner now that isn't in a litter tray. It's no big deal right now given I'm working on fixing it, and I just clean it up every day - it's not really her fault. My problem is the smell. It seemed to seep down into the bottom tray, and no amount of DAWN seems to get it clear...?
Is there anything safe I can use to eliminate the smell? I definitely don't think it's helping her, in fact, I'm worried she's going to UNlearn her litter training given it seems to be everywhere. :\ (Yet for some reason when she's free in the apartment, she never uses any of the 10 litter pans I have in every corner, or poops at ALL outside her cage, for that matter.... she always goes in her cage for that. Weird, but at least helpful, so no carpet cleaning.)

Try a vinegar-soaked paper towel laying atop the area for an hour or so.

Huh, simple. I'll try that, thanks.

We use a vinegar/water spray to clean up poops. Spray it till it's wet. and let it soak for a couple minutes. works great on carpets, even if you have to rub a little bit to get all the stain out.
