Wasn't sure exactly where to put this, but my Kinga is very close to passing, and I just needed a place to talk about it. I haven't been on here in a while for this reason (and covid, and moving ,and etc.). she's really lived long past the vet's expectation -- she's such a fighter! but we don't think it'll be long now, or at least long before I'll have to make a decision. she has what we think is pancreatic cancer, and it's taking up maybe half her stomach atm (think one of those artist erasers for size). she's still surprising me by having such good days and being silly (and causing trouble!). but that's also what makes it really difficult to gauge how she's doing bc she swings so wildly. kinga's been with me for about 4 years (she's about 7 now), and i hope she's felt very loved and had a happy life with me. i didn't get the chance to spend a lot of time w/ my last ferret before he left me, so this is nice. harder in different ways, but also nice. anyway, just wanted u to meet her before she left. here she is, in all her sassy glory:

Poor baby, I'm glad she's loved. Her little feet all folded up in the bottom photo- adorable!

I am terribly sorry for you both. Bless her sweet heart. May kinga pass in peace and feel your love. I lost 2 myself this year. It is heartbreaking.

I'm sorry. It's hard to let go I know, but she'll always be in your heart and memories.

It’s hard to know the end is coming soon, enjoy the time you have left with her.

So very sorry to hear the sad news. Kinga looks so sweet. It's never easy losing a ferret no matter how short or how long you have had them. I'm sure she knows you gave her the best life since she has been with you. Give her lots of snuggles.

Thank you, everyone. i forgot how much support this place can give, and how much that means. Kinga passed today (my decision; she was in too much pain, and didn't move around; couldn't pass movements, etc.). We thought the sedative had taken her, so the assistant was going to take her in back, and Kinga turned back toward me and squeaked - it was so heartbreaking . I'm sure it was from pain, but that image is just imprinted in my head. Anyway, thank you all so much for such kind words. Kinga (& her brother) was my very first ferret adoption. It's gonna be tough for a while.

I am so,so sorry. You did the right thing If you know they are in such pain it is best to let them go. Kinga was loved and safe in your care If she could have said it, she would have thanked you for adopting her.
